There are several ways that the signor can execute a document. Depending on how such a document
is executed determines the appropriate notary language for the document.
- Sign for Self – The person can sign for his/her self - legibility is not a requirement
- Legal Authority Signs for Them (Guardian, DPOA, Other) – Some documents allow for a legal authority to sign and some do not. When available the choice will be presented.
- Notary Sign – When a person is physically unable to sign or make a mark, a notary can sign on behalf of the person, as long as, the person can somehow indicate his/her desire for the notary to take such action
- Marked with an X – When a person is only physically able to make a mark, typically an X, the notary can notarize the mark
Explanation of parties to the document
- Grantor – This is the person who is extending power to someone else by creating this document.
- Agent Type - There are several selections for choosing who will be able to act for the grantor
- Agent without a successor – this extends power to a single agent and does not name a backup
- Agent with a successor – this extends power to a single agent and names a backup
- Multiple agents serving independently with a successor – this extends power to several agents simultaneously where any of the agents can act without the others and names backups.
- Multiple agents serving independently without a successor - this extends power to several agents simultaneously where any of the agents can act without the others and does not name backups.
- Multiple agents serving jointly without a successor – this extends power to two or more agents who must act together and does not name backups.
- Multiple agents serving jointly with a successor – this extends power to two or more agents who must act together and does name backups.
- Successor Agent Type – This provides similar choices as agent type
- Click Create
- Now in the top right corner click Create Doc to convert to a Word document. If you cannot find the document go to your download folder.
